Our Path to Purpose

a great experiment… test & learn…

Values. Purpose. What's your path?
Go to any leadership training or pick up any reading and you'll see "what are your values" "share your mission and vision" as key factors to supporting culture and profitability within an organization.

But, when you're a 'start up' ... or in the start up mindset this can take a back seat to the immediate email, the revenue push, the employee concerns... literally, anything.

This month at Ideas That Evoke (The Evoke Agency and The Tease), we've reminded our teams of who we are, where we come from, what we do and how we do it by discussing our shared values, the purpose of our company(s) and our path to making that purpose come to life.

Our Values? be...
Purposeful
Accountable
Curious

Purpose?
Kelly Ehlers founded our company(s) because we believed we could do better. We could be different. Our purpose as an organization is to "Be a different kind of agency."

Our path to fulfill this purpose is something that I'm really proud of and for the work our team did to identify:

We're working to build a Change Culture: a way to think about problem solving that isn’t the minimum viable product, it’s the maximum.
- Build a team that is anticipating and embracing the unexpected with PURPOSE.
- Create a process that allows for pivots and creativity that holds us all ACCOUNTABLE.
- Foster an environment where change = good because we’re CURIOUS.

Our benefit updates with our teams to put these values to work:
- Announced a TTO - Team Time Off program - we are closing the office for one, Evoke sponsored, Friday each month to provide time for ALL team members to be supported as a full person in and out of the office. Follow our socials + #TeamTimeOff to see how our team uses this time to support their well-being.
- Shared an updated Parental leave policy (8 fully paid weeks for postpartum disability leave)
- Unveiled a new handbook that is clear, transparent and supports our values
- Updated The Evoke Agency incentive plans to reward employees that have successfully contributed to the company's success.

As is everything with a small business, it represents a larger experiment TO DO BETTER. TO TRUST. TO LISTEN... and provide for the people that make your business successful.
